How many electric vehicles in the U.S. in 2022?

As of the end of 2021, total electric car vehicle sales in the U.S. totaled 2.32 million. This is a combined total of all electric vehicle sales since 2010. Sales of new electric vehicles, including all-electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) totaled 608,000 in 2021.

California leads the nation with nearly 835,000 plug-in electric vehicles sold by the end of 2020.
